A new venture.

I'm trying something new, and I'll admit that I'm a bit nervous.  Okay, more than a bit.  But here's goes...

I've been thinking a lot about talents lately.  I think I may have slept in the day that talents were handed out.  And by the time I showed up, there must not have been a lot left.  So, I got "friendly" and "baking".  And really, is friendly even considered a talent?  So, pretty much, I'm left with baking.

No really, all joking aside, I think that talents are rarely something that one is naturally gifted at.  I find that very rare.  I think that perfecting a talent takes lots of work and time.  For me, it also requires a very deep interest to keep me coming back for more.  Baking is one of those things that always holds my interest.  There is something so satisfying for me to create something delicious (and sometimes nutritious ;) and then share it with those I love.

This blog will be dedicated to sharing my love of baking.  On it, I will share some of my favorite recipes, and the thing I am most excited about, video tutorials!  I would love your input on things you'd love to learn how to make.  Breads, cookies, bars, whatever...  Plus, it will be a fun way for me to learn some new things too!

I can't wait to get started!

Hooray! I'm the first one to post!

I'm super excited about this new venture of yours. You are a fabulous baker---my muffin top over my jeans can attest to that fact.

I can't wait to learn all sorts of yummy goodness from this new blog!

Bring it! I'm super stoked to learn all your secrets. Good for you Tiffani, for pushing yourself out of your comfort level. This will be great!

I have to agree with Kate; your obvious Christ-Like attribute of being "NICE" is nothing that should be pushed aside! It really is a beautiful gift that may seem unglamorous to you, but in reality this world needs more "Tiffani-Harker-NICE"... And possibly a cookie to go with it :)

GOOD LUCK, I hope this brings you much happiness!

xoxo, Bek

I want to learn how to make bread, but not just any bread, really yummy bread, that doesn't have a hard crust...that is usually my problem, and that stays moist for more then the hour after the oven. hmmm maybe I just need to scratch anything I have every learned and relearn it. oh and I need to learn to make some yummy rolls. I do have a FANTASTIC breadstick recipe that I am a pro at...but that's about it!

I am pretty excited about this!

oh and any and all tips to make my pie crust NOT shrink...those would be helpful too!

Oh, thanks so much Kate and Bek! I really hadn't thought of it in that way. Thank you for bringing it into the right perspective for me.

Tiffany,
I'm so excited!!!! I have a fabulous bread recipe that not only has a soft crust, but stays soft too!

Oh yeah, I'm not a pro at pie crust, but I have a few tricks that really work.

I am making so many mental notes right now as to what I want to post!

Alright Tiffani, I am not much of a baker but I know my husband would LOVE me to make him some cinnamon rolls. Here's the thing, I do not have a mixer. Do I absolutely need one to make these?
